The floods came up!

Soooo, after we had a party down in the valley, we drove up the mountain to put up the new furniture and spend some time with some of the kids.  When we got home, we discovered that our water pipe in the attic had frozen and broke.  We came home to a watery mess.  I don't even think the pictures can do it justice.  But I will try.

This is actually water pouring out of the attic.  You can't see all the drips, although you can see some of the ceiling results!

You can't see the two inches of water that are covering the floor.

You can see that the ceiling is falling down due to the flooding.

this is the first trip of taking all the ruined items to the dump.  After we took pictures of course.

Oh well, I needed to downsize anyway, so I suppose this has a positive side.  Still, it is a hard challenge to go through.  But, the positive is that it could have done a lot more damage in the main part of the house.  The only real damage in the main house is to the carpet, which is in the process of being dried as we type.  Still, I keep telling myself, it is only things and they don't matter, people do.  This did not cause any hurt to anyone.  It is just inconvenient.
The hardest thing right now is that we are without a washer and dryer for the next several weeks.  They got wet and have to be checked out by a professional.  Also the contractor needs the outlets to dry out the walls, so I get to go to the laundrymat.  Yippee!
Just remember, Heavenly Father never gives us a challenge that we can't endure.   For some reason, He must think I need to learn something from all this.

Maybe it is just that I have way too much stuff!
